A FOCUSED recruiting campaign has continued to pay dividends for Moyhu, with the Hoppers adding further class and depth with the arrival of former CDHBU stars Corey Smith and Aaron Ray.
Smith, 22, has booted 124 goals over the past three Hume league seasons, and before that spent two years in the Ovens and Murray at Corowa Rutherglen where he played 22 senior games and kicked 34 majors.
But after playing 110 combined senior, reserves and thirds matches at CDHBU, Smith said it was time to make a move.
“I just felt like things were starting to get a bit stale for me at Coreen and that I needed a change-up,” Smith said.
“A few of my good mates have come over to Moyhu and I know Waitey as well, so that makes it easier.
“But it’s also going to be great just to have a fresh start with a lot of new blokes – meet some new faces and make friends.
“Obviously I want to be getting a kick out on the field, but I want to be just as good to the club off the field.
“I love the social side of football and I consider myself a good clubman, so that’s something I’m really looking forward to as well.”
