Cameron played 14 games in the Essendon and District Football League with division two side Moonee Valley Magpies this year, and kicked 11 goals, featuring in the best six times.
King Valley coach Hayden Murray said he was rapt with signing Cameron.
“It’s ideal, he’s exactly what I was looking for,” Murray said.
“Lachie is young, quick and he’s fit – he will bring energy and excitement.
“I haven’t seen him play, but I have done my research on him.”
Murray said relationships within the club helped the recruiting process.
“Lachie is good mates with Zack Carmody and he expressed an interest in playing some country footy,” he said.
“He will be travelling up for the games as he is still studying at uni in Melbourne.”
