Moyhu's Corey Smith will sit out the next two weeks through suspension.
MOYHU’S bid to topple ladder-leader Tarrawingee has received a blow with star recruit Corey Smith suspended for two weeks for striking.
Smith, who joined the Hoppers from Hume League club CDHBU, has been a revelation for the Hoppers and tops the competition goalkicking with 33 majors from five matches.
He was rubbed out for an altercation with Bright’s Ben Henwood, who was also suspended for two matches.
Moyhu assistant coach Michael Kreun, who followed Smith from CDHBU, said the Hoppers would have their work cut out against the undefeated Bulldogs.
“To beat them we will have to shut Kyle Raven down and back our midfield in to run and carry the ball,” he said.
In other matches, Goorambat and District’s impressive form will be put to the test against Glenrowan, Milawa should bounce back against Bright, King Valley looks too strong for North Wangaratta, Greta travels to Bonnie Doon and Whorouly hosts Benalla All Blacks.
