STUNG by last week’s loss to Bonnie Doon, Milawa responded in the best fashion with an impressive 44-point win over Moyhu on Saturday.
The match loomed as a dangerous away game for the Demons, as the Hoppers once again push for a finals spot.
Disappointed with last week’s effort, Demons coach Luke O’Keefe got the response he wanted from his players in the 17.13 to 11.7 win.
“We knew it was an important game, we wanted to come back strong after losing to Bonnie Doon last round,” he said.
“The effort across the board was outstanding, players across every line had their moments.
“We had too many passengers against Bonnie Doon – it wasn’t that way against Moyhu.”
Thomas Dunstan booted five goals for the Demons, while Hamish Falla, Bryce Mortimer and Scott Pell all impressed.
Corey Smith kicked three goals for the Hoppers.
