Milawa bounced back from two losses in a row to King Valley and Goorambat with an 85-point over Whorouly.
Jack Stamp kicked eight goals and Tom Dunstan four majors to help lead their side to the 20.7 (127) to 6.6 (42) victory.
Nathan Hooper faced his old side for the first time booting three majors.
Steven Burke was best on ground for the Demons, while Matthew Harris was the Lions’ best player.
Demons coach Luke O’Keefe said going back to basics helped overcome “a trying couple of weeks”.
