GATE takings should get a significant boost out at Bonnie Doon tomorrow as the Ovens and King Football League’s top two sides face off in what could be a grand final preview.
The second-placed Bombers host undefeated Tarrawingee in a game that has football fans from all over the North East excited.
With both the Ovens and Murray and the Goulburn Valley leagues having a bye this weekend, there couldn’t be a better time for the Bombers and Bulldogs to showcase the best of O&K football.
Bonnie Doon coach Daniel Godsmark and Tarrawingee leader Trevor Edwards have both had one eye on the round 13 fixture over the past few weeks.
“It’s definitely been on our minds,” Godsmark said.
“Once we got over that hump of playing Goorambat, Milawa, Glenrowan and Moyhu, we began to focus on who we want to beat, and that’s Tarrawingee.
“They really showed us how to play contested, team football back in round two, and we’re excited to see how far we’ve come and where we’re at now.”
