Nige's return spells trouble

THE return of co-coach Nigel Robinson after a year on the sidelines, as well as the availability of a trio of key players, has Glenrowan poised for a dash towards the top two in Ovens and King football.

Robinson ruptured his Achilles tendon at Bonnie Doon in round 11 last year, missing the rest of the season.

While the Kelly Tigers went on to win their second straight premiership regardless, Robinson’s absence has been more keenly felt this year with the departures of key position players Lachie Cohen and Corey Munro.

Robinson was initially aiming to return to the field after a nine-month recuperation, but ultimately shelved that plan in favour of 12 months in order to ensure his Achilles would be back to 100 per cent.

So it was that on Saturday, following 371 days on the sidelines, Robinson checked in during the second quarter at Greta, playing a half and kicking three goals before sitting out the bulk of the final term.
