MILAWA will face arch rival Tarrawingee in next Sunday’s semi final at Moyhu following a convincing 25-point victory over Goorambat yesterday.
Spurred on by the efforts of Ed Dunstan, Jack Stamp, Ben Clarke and Steven Burke, the Demons dominated the majority of the opening term against the Bats.
But it was a game of momentum changes, as Goorambat took control when the rain came, making a contest of it.
Milawa’s skilful ball use and forward running troubled the Bats, who started nervously and turned the ball over on numerous occasions by playing over-cautiously.
While the ball was still dry, Stamp used his pace and smarts to get out in front of opponent Brett Pollard, booting the Demons’ first two goals after marking on the lead.
While James Dalton snuck up the ground from defence to bag one on the run, the Bats were under the pump after Sam Bowers launched a shot from outside 50m and kicked truly.
