BACK FOR MORE: Glenrowan premiership captain Lachie Cohen will return for the Tigers in 2017.
THE desire to be a part of Glenrowan’s quest for an historic fourth straight Ovens and King Football League flag has seen dual premiership captain Lachie Cohen return to the Tigers’ den.
Cohen left the Kelly Tigers after leading the side to the 2015 triumph, opting to play closer to home in Bendigo with St Arnaud in the North Central Football League this year.
He continued to follow Glenrowan’s progress from afar, and admitted there was a temptation to come back earlier in the year.
But given he had a trip to Europe booked in at finals time, where he attended two weddings and enjoyed his own belated honeymoon with wife Phoebe, Cohen put the move on the backburner.
“I had some chats with Jase (McPhail) about coming back before the June 30 deadline, and it was definitely something that I was considering at the time,” Cohen said.
“But I was actually at a wedding in Europe on O&K grand final day, so I wouldn’t have been here anyway.
