Under 14's - What a great start to the season with the new boys on the block showing what they can do and the older hands kept going from where they left off last year. A great game was had by Troy Poynton, Jordan Hicks and Billy Govan, with Troy scoring our first goal for the season. So we all need to get to training on time and work hard and let's have a great season.
Under 17's - It was a big ask at the start with only 15 players but the Under 17 boys battled hard all day with Corey Poynton and Nathan Morton working hard in the middle. Michael Pettit tried his hardest in the ruck for his first game. Eddie, Hamish and Harro battled hard in the backline. Thanks to the Under 14 boys who stood up and played a good game after their own game. Also thanks to Deni for lending us a few players for the day. Keep your chin up boys and keep playing hard.
Reserves - A new year, a new season and plenty of new faces having their first start for the Bloods. Good to see some familiar faces back with Cheech, Skinny and Orion back at the club. Coach Kenny had the boys firing early into strong breeze with Cheech, Simmo and Brendan Shannon working hard with Cheech capping off a good quarter with a goal. The Bloods found out early in the 2nd quarter that the wind doesn't kick too many goals with Deni kicking into the wind versus a goal from Shielsy. Perko, Skinny, Cheech, Jazza and Mitch Paterson had good quarters. The third quarter was toughed out but Deni were stronger especially towards the end of each quarter. The Bloods continued to work and their effort wouldn't be challenged with possibly only a little fitness letting them down. Cheech, Mitch, Perko, Skinny, Simmo and Timmy all had good games.
Seniors - The firsts welcomed back some premiership players in Crawf and Loges along with the new recruits was Woody (former captain/coach and B & F winner). The Bloods got away to a good start with goals to Chappy, Coach Nathan, Singhy and Piggy. Better players were Chappy, Logie, Johnny Shiels and Coach Nathan leading by example.
The backs were under a lot of pressure with Deni using the wind to good advantage. Toc found the right formula with a play from Crawf to Tresize to Logie to Singh for a nice goal against the run of play. Singhy was becoming a solid target with his third goal and one from Shielsy kept the Bloods in the game at half time.
Coach Nathan and Chappy were lively to start the third with Singhy kicking his fourth after a receive from Chappy. Thommo laid a good tackle at CHF resulting in Singhy's fifth with the Bloods sneaking closer. A centre clearance with Rhys getting the ball forward to Chappy who goaled edged us closer. Toc's next goal came from Chappy who was vying for BOG. Chapman was also involved in the next goal from Singhy for his sixth. Deni kicked a couple to steady the ship and have a 19 point win.

Last week we had a shortage of parents to help with some jobs that need to be filled for the football games to take place. If we could get some more support from these it would be much appreciated and would make the coaches and team managers day a much more pleasant experience.
