What a huge day Good Friday turned out to be. A massive massive thank you to all the people that went over and beyond in working for the club as it wouldn't be able to operate without this wonderful help. Another great day all round for the club. Over at the netball we had five wins out of six possible grades and on the footy field we had two out of four. Let's see if we can build on this for this week.
U14's - After a big week on the track the boys were keen as mustard and played some terrific team footy. The kicking long into space and applying some excellent tackles, smothers and shepherds kept us right into the game at 3 quarter time. Unfortunately the junior Saints went up another notch in the last quarter having us go down by a couple of goals. Tommy Hatty was terrific in the last line of defence backing himself and clearing it on numerous occasions. Daniel Robinett continues to improve with some inspirational chase and tackling while James Balcombe was leading strongly up forward which resulted in very good goals. Will Hatty, Jesse Barker, Drew Eddy and Mitch Vanderhoek all continued their good form from the last couple of weeks. We need to stick at it boys and be keen to work hard on the track, as regardless of these results we are continuing to improve week in and week out.
U17's - A good win although up against an opposition that had a lot of U/14 players, which is a credit to the Berrigan boys to play two games. We still have a lot of hard work on the track to be a competitive team against stronger opponents. Thanks to James and Mitch for stepping up once again for the two games. A great effort by our captain, Jarrod Morham, also Hugh Haynes and Luke Hayes-Beetson worked hard with Liam Matthews in the back line and Billy Govan.
Reserves - Another hard fought game with the result going our way. Keep this up boys it has been quite a few years since the boys have had two wins in a row. Get to training and you might surprise yourselves. You tend to run out of legs in that last quarter. Great effort!!
Seniors - What can be said about this game!!! The game was there for us to take with open arms but we fiddled around with the ball too much. We must play as a team and work together. We will regroup this week and get it together. All the best against the Demons.
Over at the netball we have had a couple of milestones. Congratulations to Brooke Boyd and Amanda Cardillo on playing their 50th games. Amanda reached hers the week before playing against Deni Rovers in B Grade and Brooke reached hers in A Grade last week against Berrigan.
