What another great day on our own turf last week against Mathoura! Now we are heading towards the business end of the season its full steam ahead! Just a reminder that Thursday nights are in full swing. This Thursday it is off to the Golf Club for tea. Everyone is encouraged to get back there and enjoy a great feed.
Every Saturday there is a large number of helpers that put their hand up to help out in both footy and netball. I try not to single out people as there are so many, but to these people it's a massive thank you - as without your efforts we would not be what we are!
Tonight's trivia night has been cancelled due to a few other little shin digs on around town!
Happy 21st to Sophie Hore and happy 40th to Zoe Watmore, hope you girls have a wonderful night.
We would like to welcome Craig Opray and the crew from Yarroweyah FNC to the Toc Rec Reserve for the first time. Everyone is welcome in the rooms after today's game for a few cold ales and hope you guys enjoy the day!
SENIORS - The boys were thrown a challenge in the first quarter by the Timbercutters. But nothing like a good challenge saw the boys step up and take it on!! Eli played a great game while helped out by Boxer and the "O". Dizz found the sticks while Scotty wandered up the paddock to slot a major. Pica and JR backed up for another solid game finding some handy form at the right end of the season. The ever reliable Horey played Mr Consistent and showed strength of fitness. The Lug moved forward in the last with a few shot on goal but to no avail. It was a pretty good effort overall with everyone having great contribution.
MIDDAY SHOW - The boys were up against a pretty good Mathoura outfit. Our boys put up a good fight in the first half but were outgunned in the second by some handy Mathoura players. Our young guns in Murph and Troy did well to bag a few sausage rolls. While sticks Arthur had one of his best games. The Gooch and Family matters were solid again! Great effort again fellas, let's take that spirit out into today's game and come away with a win.
U17'S - A good effort by the boys again considering the injuries we have. Good to see players like Peter Brentnall and Cam Bowdern step up, great games boys. The most pleasing factor was when we made changes, the boys stepped up. Ethan, Billy and Hugh moved to unfamiliar positions and performed well. Great game by Troy for his 50th and our ever reliable captain. Thanks to the Famous Five from the U14's who helped out again.
U14's - The Young Bloods game against the Timbercutters last week was a hard fought battle with the opposition applying plenty of pressure to our boys, but to their credit, they kicked goals when they needed to, to record a gritty win.
The Barker boys put on a show, racking up possessions and finishing their work with some impressive goals. Connor C and Will H continued their consistent form. Jock H played his best game for the year and Harvey W worked hard and finished with a very good goal.
We just need to play to the plan now and take another step in what has been a pretty good year.
Congratulations to Mitch Vanderhoek who plays his 50th U/14's game today. Well done Mitch, we hope to see plenty more.
Congratulations to Melissa Herezo who also plays her 50th game today for C Grade. Well done Melissa.
QUOTE OF THE DAY - "You and your opponent want the same thing. The only thing that matters is who works the hardest for it."
