Official Match Report
The first genuine upset of the season was achieved by the Roos, who despite some third quarter wobbles completed a very important 14 point victory over the defending premiers. The Roos have had a recent solid record against Mines, and those flashing past Digger Daws at half time would have had to look at the scoreboard twice as the truth was the underdogs were nearly an even 6 goals up. Ashley Wedding in his second game for the club was the match winner with 8 while Jay Leeder is a regular in the best players, while Desmond Corbett continues to improve and is playing good footy. The Diorites have now lost two in a row a position a little foreign to most at Digger Daws, and these two losses occurred on their home ground. The Fight back in the third quarter was honorable but too much petrol was used and the Roos steadied to complete the result. Cale Delbridge continues to shine for the blue and whites while Skipper Trent Moon with 3 goals was also one of the best and the form of these two would be a shining light to take away from the loss.
