A beautiful Autumn afternoon for a Mothers Day clash against third placed East Sandy. After losing by a point in the last minute last game and with a full squad of 24 this week our boys hit the field ready to compete hard and win the contest. From the opening bounce the boys teamed together and delivered a high quality first quarter kicking 5.1 while keeping the opposition scoreless.
The second quarter was much the same as the team kept the pressure on to lead by 9 goals at the main break.
In the 3rd qtr we lost our way in defence and learnt that we need to stay focused and man up to make sure we are hard to score against.
The last qtr the team reset and played great footy to take out a well deserved win.
Today we showed what we could achieve when everyone in the team plays their role and to the best of their ability. A number of players had their best game for the year and showed us what is possible.
An inspired rendition of the club song in the rooms for their wonderful mums rounded out a fantastic afternoon. Well done boys effort equalled reward!
