Official Match Report
As hail fell down from the early hours of the morning, we knew today’s conditions weren’t going to be the best to play in. Mordialloc Braeside opened with a strong breeze and kicked the first three goals of the match, before Ajax steadied and hit back with a goal from Kister. We were much more competitive in the second quarter, kicking two goals, and keeping Mordialloc scoreless. A strong defensive effort in the third quarter kept us in the game until three- quarter time. Unfortunately we couldn’t take advantage of the breeze coming home in the last quarter and Mordialloc were allowed to score a few easy goals to maintain a 17 point advantage in the final term. It was a committed team effort from the boys and we will be able to learn from today’s performance.
