Ormond opened proceedings with strong work fromt he rucks and good marking in teh forward line. Hampton looked uninterested but after a 4 to 0 first quarter responded to be in touch at half time. The Rovers had the better of the third quarter to briefly take the lead with team leaders finding some get up and go but Ormond responded with two goals late in the third. Hampton failed to progress in the last quarter and Ormond fought it out well to win.
