Official Match Report
I do not agree with the comments made by the umpire on the match report and would like to highlight the fact that I am unaware of any abuse said towards the umpire. At my instigation, after being asked by the Beaumaris team manager to sign the match report, I spoke with the umpire and the Beaumaris team manager in the umpires room after the match and said that I did not agree with the comments. I would also like to point out that during the halftime break our umpire escort was told by a Beaumaris official that they were not required to 'look after' the umpire. I firmly believe that the umpire was significantly influenced by the Beaumaris team manager and their officials. During my discussion in the umpires room after the match I felt intimidated by the Beaumaris team manager and an unidentified person that was not wearing any MSJFL identification. I believe that there was an umpire supervisor/advisor at the game but was unable to locate them after this discussion to take the matter further.
