Coach Phil noted before the game that the boys had arrived to play and so it proved to be with Hampton jumping out to an early lead in boggy conditions. Hampton held off Ormond desperately in the third term against the wind. Hampton finished well with two early goals in the last term but Ormond cam back to keep fighting. Hampton hung on to win by 7 points.
