Official Match Report
Our first game at home saw 27 boys take part, a massive 9 interchanges each quarter which posed a challenge but in the main we seemed to cope without too many issues. The pre-match speech was about mate ship, in the spirit of the Anzacs, being first to the ball and playing in front.
The first quarter was an even contest, our intensity was super.The boys played in front, won the ball and moved it quickly and held our opposition scoreless.
In the second quarter our back line was under a little more pressure but stood up. Despite our hard work and effort we had two goals kicked against us and didn’t manage to score a goal.
The third quarter saw our forward line get great supply from our on ballers, and our back line were solid once again, holding our opposition scoreless.
In the last quarter our Ruckman gave our on ballers first use and the backline remained steady.
The final siren went and our U9 boys in the Blue and Red jumped with joy. 27 happy team mates that embraced, high fived each other and in great sportsmanship congratulated the opposition. The song was sung with gusto and a happy day was had.
