Warragul made a promising start without scoring a major. Sale fought back and scored their 2nd goal after the 1/4 time siren. Sale took control in the 2nd 1/4 and began to dominate play. After 1/2 time scoring dried up and the game was played between the half forward and half back lines. Both teams finished the game strongly. Warragul broke through with a goal, but Sale got another 2 to finish well on top.
