And it is fitting the day will be held with the present day Blues meeting Tarrawingee at Greta as the two clubs shared a fierce rivalry back in the 60s.
The triple premierships were coached by Blues great Maurie Farrell.
Greta president Gary Hogan said the weekend was set to be a roaring success with close to 50 responses to invitations.
“The amount of people who have replied has been terrific considering it was 40 years ago,” he said.
The reunion will get underway with finger food being served in the complex on game day at noon, with a display of newspaper articles and other memorabilia.
After the match a three course meal will be available from 6pm.
Cost for the dinner is $10 per adult and $5 per child.
A monster fireworks display will also be held at the Greta Recreation Reserve from 7pm.
