THE 2011 Ovens and King Football Netball League grand final has a new home with the league announcing the WJ Findlay Oval as the venue for the competition's showpiece event.
Ovens and King general manager Rod Carmody revealed yesterday the league's grand final wouldn't be held at the Norm Minns Oval, which has hosted the event since 2005.
Carmody said concern over the effect the current redevelopment of the Norm Minns Oval would have on crowd numbers, spectator comfort and accessibility was a major concern for the league.
"The way it's set up at the moment, people can't drive around the whole ground," he said.
"So it was more to do with spectator comfort more than anything.
"Everything was taken into account and people might be tempted not to come if they think it would be too crowded with areas cut off."
But while the WJ Findlay Oval will host the decider this season, the grand final is expected to return to the Norm Minns Oval in 2012.
