BONNIE Doon seniors football team travelled to Greta on Saturday and they meant business.
Taking the ball directly from the first bounce to goal, Chris Anderson was the beneficiary.
The Dogs moved the football with purpose through the middle of the ground and outplayed the more fancied Greta line up.
Travis Scott injured his knee midway through the opening term which forced the Dogs to tinker with their defensive setup.
Simon Powell and Al Kilgour were more than capable of covering his loss.
Greta fought back late in the term, though accuracy was their enemy.
The Blues straightened up and the scorebaord favoured them.
It was the young pups, Harley Cartwrihgt and Jacob Howes, that provided any resistance as Greta overpowered Bonnie Doon in the second term.
Bonnie Doon came out after the long break full of venom.
They threw everything but the kitchen sink at Greta, all to no avail.
Darren Wheeler covered a lot of territory for the Dogs.
Hayden Floate was competitive in the ruck, but the Blues had the better of the Dogs at ground level.
Bonnie Doon looked good when going 'up the guts' but tended to play wide around the boundary, where their run was less effective.
When Bonnie Doon had posession of the ball, they tried things that they just weren't capable of pulling off.
When the Dogs employed the 'kiss' theory – keep it simple stupid – goals were scored – five for the term.
However, Greta were tood good on the day and took home the chocolates.

Greta Reserves had too much grunt
BONNIE Doon reserves headed to Greata on Saturday only to find they had a tough stand against a stronger opposition.
It was a tough start as Greta continually attacked, scoring the first three goals.
Anthony Wilkinson worked hard with Tom Boulton to hinder their progress.
Despite their efforts the Dogs trailed the Blues by 36 points at quarter time.
The second term had a similar feel to the first.
Although Bonnnie Doon had as much of the ball as Greta, they were inefficient with disposal and put too much pressure on their teammates.
Things did pick up though.
Chris Mitchell took on a general's role and directed his troops.
Damian van Winden showed some of his old dash as Bonnie Doon put on three goals for the term to win the quarter.
Brian Warton began the third quarter showing plenty of strength, with his physicality proving invaluable to the Dogs' defensive endeavours.
Andrew 'Digger' Walker had an influence as the sides provided an even contest.
The final term gave Lachlan Cripps a chance to shine.
Cripps and Anthony Peasnell ran out the game strongly, but couldn't influence the scoreboard in Bonnie Doon's favour.
Jamie Kipping did all he could at full back, but he couldn't stop the grunt of Greta.
The Blues ran out convincing winners on their own paddock.
