GOORAMBAT coach Terry Greaves says his side would love nothing more than to spoil the party for North Wangaratta on Saturday.
The Hawks have left their run to the last game of the season to make the finals, with the 12th-placed Bats standing in their way.
North Wangaratta has to beat the Bats at home this weekend and hope Bonnie Doon loses at Moyhu to steal eighth from the Doon Dogs and the last spot in the finals.
Greaves said his side would make it as hard as possible for Wayne Lovett’s side.
“I hope to,” Greaves said yesterday.
“That’s my intentions.
“They are sweating on beating us to get in.
“I can’t see Bonnie Doon beating Moyhu.
“Hopefully we will upset North Wang.”
While most pundits believe North Wangaratta will push into the finals, it must get over a side that pushed Greta all the way last week.
Goorambat trailed by six goals at quarter-time before pegging the margin back to 28 points by the final siren at home against the Blues.
Mark Beavis took his season goals tally to 32 after a four-goal haul, while the Nolans, Clint and Trav, as well as Tom Skilbeck and Tom Marriott were also impressive for the Bats.
Former Hawk Greaves said he didn’t have a preference as to who made the finals.
