A DOMINANT display from hard-nosed midfielder Ryan Craig and some scintillating link-ups between the Wilson brothers were the catalysts for Moyhu's 37-point win over Whorouly on Saturday.
Craig was constantly at the bottom of the packs finding the hard ball, and if he wasn't he was probably laying a tackle or hitting up a teammate with a long kick forward.
Young gun Matt Wilson played with a level of desperation that would have had his coach grinning from ear to ear, and with ball in hand he displayed the poise of a 100-gamer.
He got his older brother Jeremy involved in the game early on, having a hand in a couple of his three first quarter goals.
The Hoppers had their work cut out for them in the first quarter, with Whorouly nailing four goals to one through the middle of the period to grab a 13-point buffer.
Trevor Vyner, Brendan Roche and Liam Harrington were all getting their hands on the ball through the middle, while Josh Nixon and Zac Guilfoyle were proving a handful for Moyhu backs Cam Forrest and Leroy Dowling.
Nixon's brute size and strength was giving the Lions a big target in the absence of Richard Leahy, who was a late withdrawal with groin soreness, while Guilfoyle looked sharp when the ball went to ground, and the pair had four goals between them in a 10-minute stretch.
