OVENS and King premier Tarrawingee has received a big boost on the eve of its second finals match after re-signing playing coach Finton Eames.
The Dogs yesterday announced the star midfielder would extend his reign to two seasons after signing a one-year contract extension.
Eames, who will lead his side into battle in Sunday’s semi-final against Whorouly at Moyhu, said he was happy to have his position locked in before the end of the season.
“We wanted to let the group know what’s happening next year,” Eames said yesterday.
“It might help with recruits or blokes thinking about looking elsewhere that a coach is secured for the next 12 months.”
The 30-year-old, who has led the club to the second week of the finals after finishing the home-and-away rounds fifth, said he was loving the job after replacing Mick Wilson.
“I’m very happy,” he said.
“We’ve had a pretty good year this year and we are still going.
“I can see some really good signs ahead.
“I’ve got a good opportunity with a good list so I wanted to go again.”
