AFTER being disappointed at the end of each of the past two seasons, Whorouly will be desperate to win tomorrow's preliminary final against Moyhu to give itself another shot at glory.
The Lions entered both the 2009 and 2010 finals series as flag favorites but failed to produce their best form when it mattered.
This year they qualified for the finals in third position, leaving Greta and Milawa to fight over the favorite's tag.
With Milawa out in straight sets, the Blues are in the box seat to repeat last year's success as they come up against Goorambat in what would seem a lopsided preliminary final clash at Moyhu on Sunday.
But the Lions remain a major threat, and will start as favorites against Moyhu tomorrow.
While the Hoppers are in top form and boast a good mix of youth and experience, the Lions look extremely solid and are coming off a convincing 25-goal semi final win over Tarrawingee.
The Bulldogs entered that match on a three-game winning streak, but were unable to seriously challenge the Lions.
With three OandK Team of the Year members (Kerry Newton, Kristy Newton and Janelle McMasters) in its line up, there is no doubting the Lions' firepower.
Throw in the likes of Sarah Newton, Kelly Jackson and Nat Marek-Rhodes and you have stars across every line.
The Hoppers will need to produce their best netball tomorrow in order to deny Whorouly its shot at glory.
And having won their past six matches, it's a safe bet that's exactly what they will do.
The last time these two sides met it was Whorouly that emerged triumphant by five goals.
Expect tomorrow's match to be even closer.

OUCH: Sarah Newton copped a heavy knock against the Bulldogs last weekend, but was still one of Whorouly's best.
