GOORAMBAT skipper and inspirational midfielder Travers Nolan continues to lead the way for the Bats in the Ovens and King after taking out the club's senior best and fairest.
Nolan played for the competition's interleague side last year and was a member of the league's team of the year in the Bats' first year.
Again in 2011 Nolan was at his courageous best for the Bats and his consistency saw him finish ahead of youngster Ben Reaburn.
Assistant coach Greg Vallender said Nolan had adjusted to Ovens and King level with ease partly due to his desire to be a better player.
"He's been the one bloke that has been able to step up to this next level with a bit more ease than the rest," he said.
"I wouldn't say he's taken his efforts to another level but he really worked harder over the off-season to get fitter.
"He likes to be able to compete, it's just in his nature.
"He's a see the ball, get the ball type of player and he wouldn't ask any of his teammates to do something he wouldn't."
