GRETA has played off in the past two A grade Ovens and King netball grand finals and new coach Jodie Ramage is confident the Blues will once again be a force in season 2012.
Ramage, a former Ovens and Murray A grade best and fairest winner with Wangaratta, was officially announced the Blues' new coach earlier this week.
This season's coach Kristie Vearing has taken on the coaching role with the Blues' C grade side, Lindsey Tanner will lead the B grade while the club has yet to appoint someone to the B reserve position.
While training is yet to begin, Ramage said she expected the Blues will be much the same as previous seasons.
"I suppose I don't know my group of girls so I'll have to wait and see who we have," she said.
"We'll be recruiting but also we will be sourcing the girls from this season.
"I'm confident we'll have much the same core group as the last two years."
Ramage played and coached for a number of years with Wangaratta but has also spent time with Shepparton Swans and Violet Town.
As a player, Ramage has also won league best and fairests in the Goulburn Valley and Central Goulburn leagues to go with her OandM best and fairest.
She said she was excited about returning to coaching, having just moved back to the North East, despite never having been involved in the Ovens and King.
"I've just recently moved back to the area and I'm keen to help out the local club," she said.
"I have been coaching for quite some time and I also played for a number of years.
"I enjoy coaching because it gives me the chance to give back to the game."
Greta will hold try-outs for its C grade side next Wednesday, December 14 from 5pm at the Barr Reserve while senior try-outs will be held in the New Year.
