TARRAWINGEE has received a late boost to its ruck stocks just a week out from its opening round clash against Swanpool by signing former premiership ruckman Chris Daws.
Daws came to terms with the Bulldogs last Wednesday night and will return to his former club after enduring a horror two years with injury.
After playing Tarrawingee's premiership in 2008 and the subsequent grand final defeat in 2009 to Milawa, Daws joined Ovens and Murray club Wangaratta.
However, persistent foot injuries limited to the big ruckman to just a handful of games in the seniors and reserves.
Eames said Daws always planned to return to the Bulldogs but said constant injuries made the decision easier.
"That was part of his reason," he said.
"The rigors of Ovens and Murray were a bit full on for him and he wasn't sure his body would be able to hold up.
"He was always coming back it was just a mattered of when.
"We're rapt to get him back to the kennel."
But with the Bulldogs set to kick off their 2012 campaign this Saturday, Daws' history of foot problems is likely to see him miss the Bulldogs' first match.
