TATONG will have some more midfield firepower this season with coach Andrew James announcing former North Wangaratta wingman Lance Barton had joined the club.
Barton recently agreed to terms with the Magpies and will play in the club's season opener against Glenrowan tomorrow.
James said Barton, who has Ovens and Murray experience, would provide plenty of experience to the young Magpies.
"He's played Ovens and Murray with Myrtleford and he's also played at Whorouly and North Wangaratta so he's pretty experienced," he said.
"Lance is a proven match winner on his day and with our young side we're hoping he can provide some leadership."
