A grade: Whorouly 38 def Bright 28.
The Whorouly A grade team had a flying start to the 2012 season with a 10 goal win over Bright.
After starting slowly the Lions eventually found their feet and began to work together well.
With the majority of the side new, things were going to take a while to settle, and it was good to see some systems starting to work out as the game went on.
Whorouly's defensive players caused turnovers and forced errors within the Bright goal ring.

B grade: Whorouly 58 def Bright 30.
It was a fantastic start to season 2012 for the Whorouly B grade girls with a 28 goal victory.
The Lions came out firing and took an early lead in the first half.
Consistency was a key for Whorouly, and all players showed great stamina given it was the first game of the year.
Awards: Shannon Phillips (Railway Hotel), Lee Cappellari (Carlo's Pizza and Pasta).
B reserve: Whorouly 57 def Bright 34.
The Whorouly B reserve team had a solid win in its first up game for the year.
The girls worked well together with some superb defensive work, strong forward leads and brilliant feeding into the goalies.
The Lions steamed ahead to come away with a confidence building win.
Awards: Kirsty Crockett (Everton Hotel), Eleisha Kneebone (towel).
C grade: Whorouly 25 def by Bright 54.
The young Whorouly team started the season with a number of new players, and did a great first up job up against a tough opposition.
Whorouly fought hard throughout the game and applied strong defensive pressure all over the court.
This enabled the Lions to force errors at times in the Bright offence and cause several turnovers.
By the end of the game the Lions were gelling well in their new positions.
