CLEVER play saw Darren Wheeler open the game and the scoreboard for Bonnie Doon at home against Greta on Saturday.
Rick Milligan and Judd Darby were on song and Steve Steiner was joining the chorus.
New player Doug Aldous got a feel for the ball and was making an impact and when Greta kicked the next two goals the Dogs knew they had a game on their hands.
Ben Trenfield, Simon Powell and Hayden Floate were to the task when the pressure was applied.
This pressure was somewhat relieved when Chris Anderson passed nicely to Tom Webster for him to goal.
At quarter time Doon was down by a mere one point with the scores 2.2 (14) to Greta's 2.3 (15).
Opening the second term two quick goals to Greta threw the cat among the pigeons.
Doon was now under renewed pressure and in that cooker Wheeler snapped a goal.
And when Webster could not convert a set shot, he converted on the run instead.
Bullocking work by Ben Trenfield and then Alex Kellalea set Matt Stevenson up, but he could not convert.
After an armwrestle and some immense pressure Aldous snapped for his first goal.
Good work by Wayne Lockhart, Powell and Ed Poole was rewarded with a goal to Wheels.
At the big break Doon were two up on Greta 35 to 33.
