IF it hadn't done so already then Milawa surely consolidated itself as a genuine premiership contender after smashing reigning premier Moyhu by 80 points on Saturday.
Led by in-form ruckman Jeff Whitehead, the Dees led by three goals at quarter time but quickly extended that margin to 52 points by half time after kicking seven goals to one in the second term.
Full forward Tim Lewis was a star with five majors while Jack Stamp finished with four in another outstanding midfield role.
The Hoppers, badly out of form and with a growing injury list, fought hard in the second half but were consistently under the pump.
Ben Clarke, Scott Pell and Mark Scholte also starred for the Demons in the win.
Meanwhile, Bonnie Doon caused a massive shock with a 30-point win over King Valley.
After trailing by 18 points at the main change, the Doon Dogs kicked nine goals to two in the second half to cruise to a great win.
Mark Stevenson kicked seven for the winners.
And in other games, Benalla defeated Swanpool by 148 points, Bright beat Tatong and Tarrawingee was too good for Goorambat.
ONE HAND: Milawa's Steve Williamson tries to gather as Moyhu's Andrew Startin gives chase.
