MILAWA maintained its spot atop the OandK ladder with a textbook win over Tatong on Saturday.
While the Magpies came out firing, stunning the Demons with three goals to two to lead by four-points at the first change, Milawa soon got on top.
In fact the Demons booted 21 goals to just two from Tatong after quarter time, with Tim Lewis (seven goals) and Jack Stamp (five goals) the key contributors in attack.
Stamp, who was supposed to be travelling to the Middle East for work, but got delayed by Visa issues, was unstoppable, and was named best on ground for the Demons for the fifth time this season.
- Meanwhile, Greta recorded a crucial away win at Bright, getting up by 31 points in what was a low-scoring slog.
On-baller Mark Strack was superb in the win, with great support from the likes of Tom Fursdon, Leon Elliott and ruckman Bryce Willoughby.
- Swanpool chalked up its highest score and biggest win since joining the OandK, thumping Glenrowan by 100 points.
The Swans, led by Mark Pollard, had far too much class and structure for the Tigers, who showed glimpses of form, but were unable to maintain it for four quarters.
Dylan Lee, Jack Finegan and Mathew Trende were all among the Swans' better players, while Tim Swift booted five goals.
- King Valley kept Tarrawingee to its lowest score in years, as the Bulldogs finished with a miserable total of 1.11 (17) at Whitfield.
The Roos cruised to a 67-point win, with Steve Beaviss outstanding in defence, Brendan Sessions booting four goals in difficult conditions, and Jono Rea, Adam Williams and Simon Hunter dominant in the middle of the ground.
- A strong start from Whorouly saw it hold out Bonnie Doon by 27 points.
The Lions led by 32 points at the first change before the Doon Dogs came charging back to get within 13 points at three quarter time.
Lance Warr, Brett and Scott McNamara, and Daniel White fired for the Lions.
