WHOROULY Football Club visited Bonnie Doon oval and took home a 27 point victory in the senior match last Saturday.
It was football weather that welcomed both the hosts and the visitors - cold and wet.
Whorouly were first into attack, kicking three goals before Tom Webster slotted through a steadier for Doon.
The Dogs seemed overawed as the Lions kicked three more to close the quarter with a more than handy lead.
Doon came out after the break with a different attitude - playing close man to man, they became more competitive.
Simon Powell, who was prepared to take on the game, was assisted by Hayden Floate and Ben Trenfield.
Jake Darby had also put himself into the mix.
It was long into the quarter before Whorouly goaled, but with a quick response, Steve Steiner passed to Darren Wheeler for a goal.
With just rewards, Steiner then kicked his own.
Both Doon and the scoreboard looked better as the Dogs held their own for the quarter.

OH NO!: Bonnie Doon senior coach Darren Wheeler is tackled by two opposition players who brought him to the ground in just one of the many tackles during the match on Saturday.
