IT was a huge day at Bonnie Doon on Saturday when the club, along with WorkSafe Victoria and Netball Victoria hosted one of only four Games of the Month luncheons for the season.
Months of preparation and organisation saw almost 100 people attend the luncheon to hear guest speakers and Melbourne Vixen players Kathleen Knott and Sharelle McMahon talk on their love of the game.
Both girls conducted coaching clinics for about 40 girls during the morning encouraging the younger girls to give their all in their play.
Following the luncheon they then went courtside to help coach and watch the A grade sides play off.
McMahon assisted Doon's Andrea Morris in coaching the home side, while Knott assisted in coaching the Whorouly girls.
Following the game, presentations of medalions were made to all playing members and their coaches and the Game of the Month trophy was presented to the Whorouly team.
Raffles were drawn with a number of prizes going out to - mostly Whorouly members - a great day for their girls.
Signed netballs were presented to the captains of each team and a special presentation was made to Bonnie Doon director of coaching, Cathy Parks for her tireless work.
Lunch was catered for by Dave and Carol Darby of Alpine Butchery and members.
A further story on the talks given by McMahon and Knott will appear in next week's Mansfield Courier.
