THE A grade girls went into the game knowing that it wasn't going to be easy, but an opportunity to learn from the opposition, with Milawa 75 defeated Bonnie Doon 10.
With three players out it was a struggle for numbers.
With Ange Desmond filling in at GA for the first half and Jess Walsh at GS, the girls did well against a very strong Milawa defence.
Jaimie Anstee and Steph Pankhurst in C and WA worked hard to clear the ball through the mid court and feed it into the goalers.
Mel Hilbrick and Ellen Watts stepped up to play WD and GD and played an awesome game against a very fast and physical Milawa attack.
Brenda Webster played an amazing game in GK getting many rebounds and intercepts.
Half time saw many changes with Lizzie Conrick coming into GA, Beth Revell into WD, Marnie Egan into C, Steph Pankhurst into GD and Jaimie Anstee into WA.
The changes bought a defensive pressure all over the court, and the under 17s and Anstee worked well together making great space.
All girls played amazingly well considering all the changes, injuries and the flu.
A massive thanks to all the girls who helped fill the team - Ange Desmond, Mel Hilbrick, Ellen Watts, Lizzie Conrick, Marnie Egan and Beth Revell - most playing with injury to keep us going.
Congratulations to Marnie Egan for an awesome last game for the season good luck in Adelaide.

IN a scoreline that Bonnie Doon would like to ignore, the B grade girls can still hold their heads high, with Milawa 71 defeated Bonnie Doon 14
B grade should be re-named the 'club grade', as without the support of players and coaches from the other grades, B grade would not have been able to take the court numerous times throughout this season.
It was a very physical game with the Milawa girls not pulling up on any contest, but Doon kept level headed and persisted with putting pressure on the ball at every opportunity.
With many positional changes throughout the game, the Doon girls worked tirelesly to get the ball down the court and into the shooters.
A special shoutout to Beattie Conrick, Brooke Van Winden and Maddy Delarue, who were amazing in this game and showed what they are capable of.
All three girls should be extremely proud of themselves and the way they carried themselves on-court.
The players and coaches are very proud of you.
Well done to the four B graders, Mel Hilbrick, Jo Stevens, Ange Desmond and Leith Azzopardi, who played tough netball all day and showed great support and leadership to the younger players.
A massive thanks again to the girls that stepped up against a very tough and physical opposition - Leonie Hill, Bianca Sheeran, Sarah McPherson, Brooke Van Winden, Beattie Conrick and Maddy Delarue.
Thanks also to our patient coach Donna Khoo, who pushes and supports us to take the court and play as a team - no matter who is in what position or what the scoreboard looks like.

BONNIE Doon's C graders made the journey to Milawa at the weekend, knowing it would be a hard physical contest, full of intensity, with Milawa 51 defeated Bonnie Doon 25.
The girls started well in the first quarter keeping Milawa to only a small lead.
The defence end, comprising Ellen Watts, Zoe Sladdin, Marnie Egan, Sarah Hill and Brooke Van Winden, read the play well continually, resulting in many taps and rewarding intercepts.
Maddy Delarue, Beth Revell and Beattie Conrick fought hard through the centre and were able to accurately feed the ball into the goalers.
A highlight of the game was Doon's transitional play where the attack end applied defensive pressure to keep the ball down their end and the defenders worked hard being able to reward their intercepts and pressure by attacking the ball to the goalers.
Goalers, Micaela Van Winden and Lizzie Conrick, worked well in providing space for each other to drive and hold their space with strong bodies in the ring, which resulted in some accurate shooting.
Although the team wasn't victorious, the girls learnt to keep their heads up, also understanding the importance of a consistent four quarter performance.
The girls should all be proud of their valiant effort against a strong side.
