WHOROULY forward Richard Leahy etched his name in the Ovens and King record books on Saturday, bringing up his 136th goal for the season in the Lions' 83-point win over Greta.
The haul took him past Brendan Sessions' home and away season record of 135 goals, set while playing for Tarrawingee in 2008.
Heading into the match needing eight goals to pass Sessions, Leahy was determined not to let the milestone distract the Lions from the more important task at hand.
"I guess it was on my mind, but I was trying not to think about it," he said.
"I told Boppa (Brendan Roche) I didn't want the boys to be focusing on me it was more important to play well and get the win.
"I've been getting plenty of shots most weeks anyway, so there was no need to do anything silly."
