WITH one round remaining, King Valley's Adam Williams was two votes adrift of Benalla ace Daryl Webb in the Baker Medal count.
Fittingly, the two guns faced off on Saturday in a match that ultimately won the medal for Williams and left Webb with the runner up trophy.
But Williams, who had already won the league's Most Valuable Player trophy, wasn't overly confident waiting for the votes to be read out on Sunday night.
"My plan (on Saturday) was to try to curb Webby's influence a little bit, because he had a pretty good game against us in the first round," Williams said.
"I'd had a reasonable first three quarters, then I just went into hiding in the last quarter it felt like.
