AS far as stats and dedication to a club, Greta Football Netball Club couldn’t have had two better people involved in its club over the years than Ken Ellis and Dawn Wallace.
Both Ellis and Wallace were inducted into the O&K Hall of Fame on Saturday morning and a look at their input at the club suggests their inclusion in the elite group was a certainty.
Ellis played over 200 senior games for the Blues and was a member of three premierships during his career.
After retiring, Ellis served as a member of the committee for 30 years, six as treasurer and five as president, while he also spent time as the club’s time keeper.
Wallace took to the court for the Blues across 22 seasons and was coach of the club’s C grade for 11 years.
Her career included three premierships, six best and fairests and three league best and fairests while she spent her fair share of time on the club’s committee (15 years as secretary/treasurer).
Former Moyhu netball star and coach Gladys Townsend joined elite company with induction into the O&K Hall of Fame while Keith Izard and current Hopper Andrew Balfour earned life memberships.
The final Hall of Fame inductee for 2013 was North Wangaratta’s Rex ‘Diesel’ Walter, a seven-time Hawks best and fairest who played over 350 matches for the brown and gold.
