Bumper Farrell Shield
Maurie "Bumper" Farrell holds the O&K record for the most number of senior football premierships as a player - six.
He also won an remarkable eight club best and fairest awards with Moyhu from 1955 - 1960 and 1963 and 1964.
Farrell trained with Geelong FC during their pre season in 1960 and played one game with Wangaratta Rovers in early 1960.
Farrell was captain / coach of Greta between 1965 and 1967, winning three consecutive premierships.
He retired after Greta's 1967 premiership & finished his career with 301 senior O&KFL games.
Farrell was inducted into the O&KFL - Hall of Fame in 2015.
The winner of the first game of senior football in the season gets to keep the Shield and display it in their clubrooms until it is won back.
Farrell was born in 1935 and passed away in 1988, aged 53.
