The redevelopment of the Wangaratta Showgrounds (Norm Minns Oval) is already well under way. Parts of the 2.9 million project have already started. The sealing of the internal road has already started as well as the enlargement of the bank on the river side.
The project is expected to be completed by mid 2011. The ground is expected to hold approximately 13,000 people by the end on the redevelopment. Other things that are to happen are the installation of AFL standard lighting and the building of a large multi-purpose facility.
Once this redevelopment has been completed the AFL have committed to playing 5 practice matches at the Showgrounds over a 10 to 15 year period.
